BARKASTATIN is used for the prophylaxis and treatment of the skin and mucous membranes of the oral cavity.
- Hypersensitivity to the drug.
BARKASTATIN may cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rashes and urticaria.
DOSAGE & ADMINISTRATION:
For the treatment of intestinal or esophageal candidiasis: 500000 IU (5 ml) 3-4 times daily.
Infants and children: 100000 IU (1 ml) 4 times daily.
For the treatment of lesions of mouth: 100000 IU (1 ml) 4 times daily and the formulation should be kept in contact with the affected area for as long as possible, and patients should avoid taking food or drink earlier than one hour after a dose.
For prophylaxis of esophageal candidiasis in patients receiving broad-spectrum antibiotics: 500000 IU (5 ml) daily.
Infants born to mother with vaginal candidiasis: 100000 IU (1 ml) daily.
Treatment course is 10-14 days and administration should be continued at least 48 hours after clinical cure to prevent relapse.
