Description
Indications:
- Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease
- Hyperlipidemia
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to any of the drug components.
- Active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of serum transaminases.
- Pregnancy and lactation.
Side Effects:
Myalgia, arthralgia, extreme pain in extremity, nasopharyngitis.
Dosage and Administration:
Hypercholesterolemia and mixed Dyslipidemia
10 to 80 mg once daily administered as a single dose at any time of the day, with or without food.
The recommended starting dose is 10 or 20 mg once daily but for a large reduction in LDL-C (more than 45%) dose may be started at 40 mg once daily.
Heterozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia in pediatrics patients (10 to 17 years of age):
10 mg to 20 mg once a day
Homozygous Familial Hypercholesterolemia
10 to 80 mg daily
