Description
Indications:
- Management of neuropathic pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy
- Management of post herpetic neuralgia
- Adjunctive therapy for adult patients with partial onset seizures
- Management of fibromyalgia
Contraindication:
Hypersensitivity to any of the drug components.
Side Effects:
Dizziness, Drowsiness, loss of balance and coordination, dry mouth, edema, tremor, blurred vision
Dosage and Administration:
Neuropathic pain associated with diabetes: 50 mg 3 times daily and it could be increased to 100 mg 3 times daily based on efficacy and tolerability
Post herpetic neuralgia: 75 to 150 mg 2 times daily and the dose may be increased to 300 mg daily based on efficacy and tolerability
Adjunctive therapy for adult patients with partial onset seizures: 75 mg 2 times daily or 50 mg 3 times daily and the dose may be increased to 600 mg maximum based on efficacy and tolerability
Management of fibromyalgia: begin dosing at 75 mg 2 times daily and increase to 300 to 450 mg daily if the desirable effect is not reached
Dose should be adjusted with patients with renal impairment.
